American Horror Story- Asylum
American Horror Story Asylum follows the nurses, doctors and patients of the Briarcliff Mental Institution, the series is based on some actual events that took place in Mental homes in 1964, such as the 'treatments' they used like the scolding hot baths, shock therapy (which is still used today), Exorcisms and trying to cure homosexuality. I found out that in the 60's a lot of the Mental Patients were not actual mentally ill but would still be sent to homes regardless of how much they protested and in some cases they became physically and mentally unstable due to the forced treatments and the hospital doctors and nurses.
What I found interesting was that for some scenes they filmed in a Mental Home that was no longer in use and in the other American Horror Stories they sometimes filmed on actual said Haunted buildings and Haunted grounds.
