American Horror Story- Asylum

American Horror Story Asylum follows the nurses, doctors and patients of the Briarcliff Mental Institution, the series is based on some actual events that took place in Mental homes in 1964, such as the 'treatments' they used like the scolding hot baths, shock therapy (which is still used today), Exorcisms and trying to cure homosexuality. I found out that in the 60's a lot of the Mental Patients were not actual mentally ill but would still be sent to homes regardless of how much they protested and in some cases they became physically and mentally unstable due to the forced treatments and the hospital doctors and nurses.
What I found interesting was that for some scenes they filmed in a Mental Home that was no longer in use and in the other American Horror Stories they sometimes filmed on actual said Haunted buildings and Haunted grounds.

Water Ink

When I was browsing around the internet I came across some water ink art and really liked the idea and the artwork I have seen, I am going to attempt to try some out myself sometime. Here are some images I found on google when I started research and looking at 'Water Ink Art'.

Bowes Museum

Bowes Museum was built in the 19th Century by John and Josephine Bowes. My favourite piece in the Museum is the Maniacal Silver Swan. The Silver Swan is around 240 years old, since it was made it has been owned by several different people. Parts of the original swan no longer exist now but luckily the swan still manages to move and play the soft music. Unfortunately I have never been able to find the EXACT person who made the Swan.

Victoria Frances

Victoria Frances is another one of my favourite artists, her artistic style is similar yet very different to Luis Royo. Victoria Frances was born in Valencia City. She studied Fine art and several trips and a long stay in Galician Land marked her future artistic future. Exactly like Luis Royo, Victoria Frances's work is world wide and she also has published books and posters. I own 3 of her posters.
